Who We Are about

Welcome to the Kids Restore the Kepler Website. Whether you are a student at one of the local schools, a person keen on conservation, or simply interested in this wonderful project, there are some great things headed your way.

This project is run by the Fiordland College Board of Trustees. This website is made possible through the support of Meridian Energy.

Involving the wider community happens naturally as children share their enthusiasm with family members and peers, and fieldtrips involve students, teachers and caregivers.
Fieldtrips and class activities are planned with the teachers, for the teachers, and tailored to their specific classes. Input from students as well as expert support are incredibly valued and sought after.
The project has a very strong focus on four educational goals (connection with nature, knowledge and skills, restoration and conservation, reflection and celebration), and from early childhood to college we share and build on authentic experiences in the bush and the outdoors.
Senior classes and younger children get support at their level. Teachers and parents are given the opportunity to upskill while working with their students and children. Because of in context and hands-on learning opportunities the outcomes are powerful. Bonds and connections develop naturally.
